Our take
For under $200, the DDJ-SB3 is a fantastic starter controller. It's compact, lightweight, and powered over USB—perfect for beginners. The build is mostly plastic, but it feels solid enough for home use. The pads are responsive, and the jog wheels are decent for scratching practice. My main complaint is that it doesn't have balanced outputs, so you'll need adapters for pro monitors. Also, the full Serato Pro license isn't included. Still, if you're starting out, it's hard to beat this price-to-performance ratio.
